The Town of Truckee and the Truckee Fire District has created the top 5 ways to clean-up yard debris for spring. As we move away from Winter and move into Spring, it’s a good time to be wild fire conscious. Even after the tremendous winter we had, wild fire danger is a very serious concern.
Here is a list of 5 ways to dispose of the materials-
1. NEIGHBORHOOD DROP-OFF DAY: Large dumpsters will be located near your neighborhood. May 20th, Glenshire Clubhouse, Rodeo Grounds and Fire Station 92 (next to high school). June 10th, Tahoe Donner, Rec Center and West End Beach. July 1, Tahoe Donner again (no dirt, rocks or bags).
2. REDUCED RATE DUMPSTERS $60: NOW-Sept 30. 6 yard dumpsters delivered to your house Wednesday and picked up the following Wednesday. No bags. Reserve 583-7800.
3. DROP-IT-OFF FOR FREE!: NOW-Oct 31. Eastern Regional Landfill, self-service, no bags, ID required.
4. GREEN BAGS: Year round. For small clean-ups only purchase approved green bags. Set out no more than 4 per week.
5. BURNING YARD DEBRIS
Residents can burn yard debris. Get a free burn permit from any fire station. Check with your HOA, 4’x 4’ piles, daylight hours, person in attendance with water and only on approved burn days.
